Kent Smith

Kent Smith, cuyo nombre de nacimiento era Frank Kent Smith, fue un actor estadounidense de teatro, cine y televisión.

Trayectoria

La experiencia inicial de Smith en la actuación comenzó en 1925 cuando fue uno de los fundadores del prestigioso grupo "University Players" de Harvard, en Falmouth, Massachusetts. Posteriormente, este grupo incluyó a Henry Fonda, James Stewart, Joshua Logan y Margaret Sullavan. Su experiencia en teatro también incluyó producciones con el Maryland Theatre en Baltimore. Su debut profesional como actor fue en 1929 en la obra *Blind Window* en Baltimore, Maryland. Realizó su debut en Broadway en 1932 en *Men Must Fight*. Continuó actuando en películas como *Comanche*, *Sayonara*, *Party Girl*, *The Mugger*, *Imitation General*, *The Badlanders*, *This Earth Is Mine*, *Strangers When We Meet*, *Susan Slade*, *The Balcony*, *A Distant Trumpet*, *Youngblood Hawke* y *The Young Lovers*.

Smith tuvo papeles en películas de televisión como *How Awful About Allan*, *The Night Stalker*, *The Judge and Jake Wyler*, *The Cat Creature*, *The Affair* y *The Disappearance of Flight 412*. Entre sus numerosos créditos televisivos, destacó por su papel recurrente en la telenovela *Peyton Place* como el Dr. Robert Morton. La esposa de Smith, la actriz Edith Atwater, interpretó a la esposa de su personaje en la serie.
