Suga

Min Yoon-gi (민윤기), born on March 9, 1993, is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He is professionally known by the stage names SUGA (슈가) and Agust D, and is a member of the boy group BTS under BigHit Music.

Career Highlights and Discography

His musical journey began with the release of his first solo mixtape, *Agust D*, in 2016. This mixtape was re-released in 2018 and achieved success on the music charts, reaching number three on Billboard’s World Albums Chart. In 2020, he released his second solo mixtape, *D-2*. The album peaked at number 11 on the US Billboard 200, number seven on the UK Albums Chart, and number two on Australia’s ARIA Album Chart. Following this, SUGA released his debut solo album, *D-Day*, in 2023. This album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200, a milestone that tied him with BTS bandmate Jimin as the highest-charting South Korean solo artist of all time.

Beyond his solo albums, SUGA has contributed to the songwriting and production of over 150 songs. Among his notable works is Suran’s "Wine," which peaked at number two on the Gaon Music Chart and secured the Best R&B award at the 2017 Melon Music Awards. In 2018, SUGA was promoted to a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association.

Awards and Recognition

For his significant contributions to Korean culture, in 2018, SUGA, alongside other members of BTS, was awarded the fifth-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit by the President of South Korea.
