Voltus V fue diseñado por el Profesor Kentaro Gō (Doctor Ned Armstrong), su esposa, el Profesor Mitsuyo Gō (Doctor Mary Ann Armstrong) y su colega de confianza, el Profesor Hamaguchi (Doctor Richard Smith) y construido por un esfuerzo de construcción a gran escala respaldado por la Defensa de la Tierra de las Naciones Unidas Fuerza y General Oka (Comandante Robinson). Voltus V es un robot compuesto por cinco "Máquinas Volt", y cada una de ellas son armas formidables.
